UT Health Science Center Facilities has begun a project to replace the motors of the two main elevators in the Briscoe Library. Work began on October 13 with the right side elevator, labeled L2. Repair of the left side elevator, L1, will begin on November 22. Most of the work will be done on the 2nd floor in the machine room behind the elevators. Library staff will monitor the noise levels and ask Facilities to stop if the noise gets too loud, especially during phase exams and finals. A conservative estimate for completion is the end of February.
