Through a collaborative effort between the School of Nursing, School of Health Professions, and Student Life, a drop-in Writing Center will be available to students in the Briscoe Library starting September 7.
The School of Medicine will provide peer tutors for the writing center through a work- study program sponsored by Student Financial Aid. The peer writing tutors are medical students who have volunteered to provide writing assistance to fellow students from all Health Science Center schools. The tutors will be available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Briscoe Library room 4.074 (Collaboratory) on a drop-in basis.
A small collection of writing guides will be available in the Collaboratory for students and tutors to use.
The tutors will receive instruction from librarians on reference management systems such as RefWorks.
