Congratulations to Lisa Matye Finnie, who was appointed in February as the Assistant Records and Archives Librarian. She will report to Anne Comeaux, Records Management Officer and Asst. Director for Special Collections, and will have her office in the P. I. Nixon Medical Historical Library on the 5th floor of the Briscoe Library building.
Lisa received her Masters in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University in 2009. She has worked part-time since 2009 at the Briscoe Library, where she worked in cataloging print and electronic books, managing electronic book collections, organizing course reserves, and participating in weeding and inventory projects. She has also added items to the Digital Archive using CONTENTdm and looks forward to adding many more historical materials from the Special Collections so they may be viewed online.
In her new position, Lisa will learn about records management policies for the university and help with answering questions, teaching classes, and performing records reviews. She will also help with processing of archival records and creating finding aids to help researchers locate needed materials. Lisa has an interest in history and enjoys working with the many historical materials in the Special Collections.
