The UT Health Science Center Libraries have acquired two counseling video collections through a purchase by the University of Texas System Digital Library with Academic Library Collection Enhancement Program (ALCEP) funds. ALCEP funds are allocated by the Board of Regents to UT Austin for one-time collection purchases that can be used by all UT institutions. The first collection, Counseling and Therapy in Video: Volume I provides a first-hand look at working with clients and putting theoretical concepts into practice. The second collection, Counseling and Therapy in Video: Volume II expands on the first volume with special emphasis on contemporary topics, and includes documentaries that provide insight into human conditions. In total, there are 708 streaming videos that cover dozens of therapeutic methods, diagnoses, and cultural groups. These collections provide practical training for counseling and therapy programs in psychology, social work, education, nursing, health, and medicine.
Both collections contain streaming videos that can be accessed online via the library catalog.
