New Records Retention Schedule Search and Display Interface

The Briscoe Library is excited to announce the launch of the newly redesigned Records Retention Schedule webpage with improved search functionality and display features. This new interface should provide better search capabilities, as well as much clearer results. Here you will find a list of the most recent changes to the Records Retention Schedule and lists of vital records, research/grant records, archival records, and GME records, in addition to explanations of terms and guidelines for e-mail. Also located here is the link to Search the Records Retention Schedule.

Most of the time you will be using the Search by Keyword field to enter words like research, grant, and faculty. This search function prioritizes search results based on a complex relevance algorithm that examines the relationship between search terms and record fields, the proximity of these search terms, and the number of times that they appear in the record. Other search fields enable you to search by Department or Record Category by use of a drop-down list or to enter a specific Record Series Item Number or Agency Item Number to retrieve particular records. Results are displayed in tabular form, and a list of explanations for all codes is available by clicking on the red hyperlink as indicated.
