Library SECC Taco Sale Raises $400 for St. PJ’s Children’s Home

Every year, Briscoe Library staff participate in the campus-wide State Employee Charitable Campaign through payroll deductions or one-time donations. In addition, the Library organizes a collective effort to raise dollars for an SECC Charity. This year, on October 3 in the Pestana Lecture Hall foyer, the lLibrary sold breakfast tacos with fillings that included potatoes, eggs, bacon, chorizo, bean and cheese, and spicy papas rancheras. All of the ingredients were donated by staff. Almost every staff member was involved in some aspect of the event, from heating tortillas to serving and selling the tacos. The taco sale netted $400 and the staff voted to donate the entire amount to St. Peter-St. Joseph’s Children’s Home, commonly referred to as “St. PJs”. Every little bit counts, and this year’s Library fundraiser contributed to UT Health San Antonio’s overall total of $375,354.
