School of Medicine Liaison Teaches Part of Research Design Course

Chris Gaspard, Liaison to the School of Medicine, will lead the first of five sessions of Basic Research Design for Health Interventions: A Short Course. This free, elective course was created in partnership with the Center for Medical Humanities and Ethics, the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, and the MD/MPH program. It is intended for UT Health San Antonio students, faculty and staff to assist them in developing community-based projects that have sound research designs and methodologies. Participants will learn how to read and interpret medical literature, understand different study designs, run a basic statistical program, and how to appropriately interpret and share their statistical results. All materials will be provided and anyone who attends all five sessions will receive a certificate of completion. Those who registered by August 1 were entered into a drawing to win a helpful resource: PDQ Statistics Third Edition.
