Librarians to Exhibit at Two Campus Events

The UT Health Science Center Library will be represented at two campus events in April.

Fiesta of Education, April 9. The First Annual Fiesta of Education will be held on April 9 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in the Holly Auditorium. The event is designed to feature how faculty are engaging students and innovating in the classroom. In addition, each department within Academic, Faculty and Student Affairs (AFSA) will host an exhibit table to feature the services they offer to the campus. Librarians will demonstrate services of particular interest to faculty and will be seeking comments about resources and services.

Earth Day, April 22. The first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970 and has been observed on this date every year since. The Health Science Center will celebrate by hosting a Go Green Fair on April 22 from 11:000 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Starbuck’s/Subway area in the lecture hall building. Librarians will be demonstrating the National Library of Medicine’s Environmental Health and Toxicology databases. In addition, images of healing plants from historical texts held in the collection of the P.I. Nixon Medical Historical Library will be on display.
