Reminder about EBSCO Resources

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission governs State Library activities, and is responsible for approving contracts for TexShare. Every five years, the Commission goes through a Solicitation Review process where vendors submit proposals to be evaluated for state-wide contracts. During the August 2022 meeting, the Commission approved contacts for Cengage/Gale and will discontinue access to the majority of EBSCO resources.

What does this mean for you?

TexShare access to EBSCO resources will end August 31, 2023. As part of the new TexShare deal, libraries have gained access to Cengage/Gale resources. These are available and listed on the library Database page.

Which resources will remain available?

EBSCO eBooks; Learning Express Library; and Job and Career Accelerator. Note: The library subscribes to CINAHL, Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print, PsycARTICLES, and PsycINFO outside of Texshare.

Which resources will be removed due to this change?

Academic Search Complete; Health Source: Consumer; Health Source: Nursing/Academic; Humanities Full Text; Professional Development Collection; Psychology & Behavioral Sciences, Science & Technology Collection and more.

See full list of cancelled TexShare resources here.

How do I get access to EBSCO items now?

You can still request articles and book chapters through Interlibrary Loan.
