The University of Texas Education and Research Center at Laredo currently has full access to all UT Health Briscoe Library electronic resources. There is also a variety of print books and journals and a collection of consumer health materials.
Mr. Victor Oliveros, a pioneer in border health issues in Laredo/ Nuevo Laredo as a founder of the U.S. Mexico Border Health Commission, was Chief of Environmental Health Services for the City of Laredo Health Department. Mr. Oliveros retired in 2005 and donated many print materials and slides to the library.
Materials not owned by the library may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. There is no charge for most Interlibrary Loan materials. Contact Andrea Schorr at email@example.com with questions.
Library computers are available with Internet, email, Microsoft Office products and provide access to all electronic resources available on the main campus. Wireless access is also available in the library for personal devices.
Meetings at the Library
Library meeting rooms may be used and/or reserved by University Departments. When not reserved, rooms may be used by affiliated students for study. Study tables and chairs are available to all library visitors.
Training and Classes
Virtual training in the use of the library catalog, Ovid, PubMed, RefWorks and other resources is offered by request.
