Chilton Room Gets a Makeover!

Chilton Room

The Chilton Room, one of our most popular study rooms, has gotten an upgrade! The Chilton Meeting and Study Room (LIB 3.130) is located on the 3rd Floor of the library, on the far right end of the study room bank. Unlike our other group study rooms the Chilton can seat up to 8 occupants at a time and is well suited to both studying and small meetings.

We’ve recently made some significant upgrades to the room. The old display monitor has been replaced with a new, large LCD screen, and we’ve furnished the room with the new task chairs, providing far more comfortable seating while the round, wooden meeting table remains.

Chilton Room - Solstice SoftwareThe biggest update, however is the installation of Solstice, software that makes it easy to connect and display your screen on the TV. No more struggling with clunky wires or worrying if your computer has the right port: if you’re logged into the UT network you can wirelessly connect directly to the TV.

There are several ways to connect using Solstice with your own device.

  • Windows users can follow the instructions on the screen to connect using a web browser
  • Mac users can connect using AirPlay
  • Download the Solstice app in the Play or Apple store

Faculty who have booked the room and don’t have a personal device can also use the connected PC in the room and included peripherals.

We’re hoping to update more study rooms in the near future. Keep in touch with the library for updates.
