Merger and Integration of Libraries Information Page

The UT San Antonio Libraries and the Health Science Center Libraries (made up of the Dolph Briscoe Jr., Library and the P.I. Nixon Medical Historical Library) are working collaboratively to expand access to library resources, collections, and services for all students, faculty, and staff.
We anticipate that the merger and integration of libraries will evolve over time.
- In Year 1, each library will operate as a distinct and separate library while beginning to work collaboratively to best meet the information needs of the UT San Antonio community.
- Expanding access to electronic resources will need to be negotiated with each vendor for each resource, and the ability to offer expanded access will be based on available funding.
- Library services will continue to be provided by librarians and library staff at each library location.
- Access to physical library spaces and physical collections will vary by location.
In order to answer your questions and provide the most updated information we’ve set up a site with FAQs and a direct contact form for any questions you might have about the merger.
You can also view a list of our currently shared databases, which includes the San Antonio Business Journal, RAND State Statistics, and askART.
