Whether you have two minutes between patient visits or an afternoon dedicated to scholarly research, finding high-yield evidence shouldn’t feel like a chore. The library is excited to announce new programming and research guides to support your work as a clinician.

Beginning in September, we are launching a monthly Clinical Lunch & Learn Series. Two streamlined clinical research guides designed to put trusted point-of-care tools, expert liaison services, and practical search skills directly into your daily workflow are now available.

Upcoming Event: Clinical Lunch & Learn Series

Take a midday break and join us as we dive into our clinical research toolkit! We have high-yield virtual sessions lined up each month throughout the year – we will promote each new session at the beginning of the month.

Each one-hour session features a focused 30-minute presentation, followed by an open 30-minute interactive Q&A and consultation time where the facilitator and guest lecturer will stick around to answer your questions, troubleshoot workflows, and engage one-on-one. Please join us for our inaugural session:

Point-of-Care Power Moves: Rapid Bedside Answers
Friday, September 25, 2026, from Noon – 1 PM

Grab your lunch and sharpen your point-of-care toolkit! We’ll spend the first 30 minutes walking through time-saving search hacks, mobile app setups, and quick filtering strategies in UpToDate and ClinicalKey so you can find the answers you need—from drug interactions to diagnostic criteria—without missing a beat. The remaining 30 minutes are reserved just for you: ask specific case questions, get live troubleshooting help, or chat directly with our team.

Explore the New Guides

The two new guide available focus on clinical information resources.

  • Clinical Resources & Services Guide: Your central hub for point-of-care tools (ClinicalKey, Diagnosaurus, Medscape), clinical practice guideline searching, systematic review consultations, and embedded curriculum instruction.
  • UpToDate & Mobile Access Guide: With UpToDate now available for the UT Health San Antonio campus, we have created a guide that offers a complete walkthrough for setting up seamless off-campus and mobile app access, tracking automated CME/CE credits, and utilizing integrated drug interaction screening.

Liaison librarians can create online guides to support your needs – to make suggestions on existing guides or for new guides, contact your liaison librarian.
