In fast-paced inpatient, outpatient, and research environments, rapid access to vetted pharmacological data is essential for patient safety, treatment planning, and evidence-based decision-making. Navigating off-label indications, verifying complex adult and pediatric dosing regimens, and screening for high-risk multi-drug interactions require robust, continuously updated clinical tools.
This 30-minute interactive session explores two of the library’s premier point-of-care pharmacology resources: UpToDate Lexidrug and Micromedex. Attendees will learn practical workflows for:
- Navigating comprehensive drug monographs, specialized clinical calculators, and off-label dosing protocols.
- Running advanced multi-drug and drug-nutrient interaction checks with severity risk stratification.
- Evaluating IV compatibility data using Trissel’s™ 2 tables to prevent bedside administration conflicts.
- Accessing actionable toxicology summaries, overdose management guidance, and comparative clinical efficacy reviews.
All UT Health San Antonio faculty, clinicians, residents, fellows, students, and staff are welcome to attend! Grab your lunch and bring your drug-information questions for the optional post-session Q&A.
